Welcome

We are fully open but operating under the Red Traffic light restrictions. All members and visitors must provide their vaccination certificate to enter the Shed which will be scanned before entry is permitted. Scan and sign in, wear a mask, maintain social distancing and hand sanitising. If you are unwell or have been a close contact to someone who is self isolating, please stay away and seek medical advice. Do not return to the Shed until you are fully recovered or have medical clearance to do so. Thank you for your cooperation.

We are now renewing membership for the year 2021/22, currently we have 63 members with membership open to men and women over the age of 16 years (but if you are 18 or younger you will need to be accompanied by a guardian at all times). Prospective members will be asked to fill in an application form. When accepted, the annual subscription is $50.

A typical workshop session would have some members working on their own projects, others making items for fund-raising or community projects and some working on shed improvements.

The fine Canterbury weather enables some activities to take place outside in the yard  but most work is carried out in one of several workshop areas.

We spend almost as much time socialising as we do working. Visitors are welcome to drop in and see us and join us for a cuppa and a chat when we stop for morning break at 10:00 am. We regularly arrange outings to visit other sheds and when the suns shines, barbeques for our members and guests.

The Timaru Community Menzshed is proudly supported by a number of local organisations.
