Owing to the Covid-19 pandemic, Timaru Community Menzshed will remain closed until further notice. We shall remain in contact with our members by telephone, text, email and social media to support our ethos of community and comradeship while we stay safe and illness free. Should you wish to contact us please call or email the Secretary on the number / email address on our contact page. Take care.

We currently have 76 members with membership open to men and women over the age of 16 years (but if you are 18 or younger you will need to be accompanied by a guardian at all times). Prospective members will be asked to fill in an application form. When accepted the annual subscription is $50.

A typical workshop session would have some members working on their own projects, others making items for fund-raising or community projects and some working on shed improvements.

The fine Canterbury weather enables some activities to take place outside in the yard  but most work is carried out in one of several workshop areas.

We spend almost as much time socialising as we do working. Visitors are welcome to drop in and see us and join us for a cuppa and a chat. We stop for morning smoko at 10:00 am and regularly arrange outings to other sheds and when the suns shines, barbeques for our members and guests.

The Timaru Community Menzshed is proudly supported by a number of local organisations.
